Opus Energy is driven by more than a profit-making desire and is keen to show a corporate social responsibility and have positive effect on the community. Opus Energy currently supports two charities:
We are proud to have adopted the NSPCC as our chosen UK charity and help continue the tremendous work they do on a daily basis to protect children from cruelty. As a Northampton based business we are keen to support the local NSPCC activities which have such a positive impact on our community. In 2007 we pledged to raise £10,000 to help Northampton’s NSPCC projects. The ‘Stopping Risk, Giving Smiles Campaign’ is aimed at helping to put a smile back onto children’s faces that are at risk from child cruelty.
Over the last three years we have raised over £25,000 for Care International, a humanitarian aid organisation dedicated to helping poor and marginalised people in 70 countries find a way out of poverty. Care has an unparalleled track record of working with communities across the world to help them find sustainable ways of making a living. For example, they support more than 800,000 people in 39 countries to set up small business activities by giving small loans or running village savings projects.
