Our Management Team
Charlie Crossley Cooke, Managing Director
In early 2002 Charlie founded Opus Energy as an independent supplier providing competitively sourced electricity to the business sector. He is responsible for the growth, strategic direction and operational management of the group.
Charlie has over 10 years experience in the energy trading and retail sectors. He has been responsible for setting up and running energy supply businesses in the UK, Spain and The Netherlands.
Fred Esiri, Director
Fred is a founding shareholder in Opus Energy and joined the company as a Director at the end of 2004. Fred works closely with Charlie on the group’s strategic and business development initiatives. He is also responsible for managing the group’s financial reporting and liaising with external debt and equity investors. Prior to joining Opus, Fred was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where he spent 16 years working for the Investment Banking Division, advising companies on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.
Tim Boylan, Director - Sales
Tim’s responsibilities focus on the development and management of internal and third party sales channels that concentrate on both the acquisition of new business and the retention of existing customers. Prior to joining Opus Energy in 2002, he was managing director of a consultancy focused on reducing business customers’ energy costs.
Louise Boland, Director - Risk Management
Louise joined Opus Energy in 2002 and has responsibility for risk management and financial planning, as well as overseeing the company’s commercial, trading and wholesale operations. She brings a wealth of electricity market experience having spent 12 years working in a number of operational and corporate planning roles within the sector.
Daniel Maitland, IT Director
Dan has 12 years experience building IT systems for the gas and electricity retail market. His in-depth knowledge enables Opus Energy to build, develop and support the innovative in-house IT systems.
Andy Nash, Operations Director
Andy joined Opus Energy in 2004; he brings an extensive 15 years experience in customer service management gained in the financial services and the utility industry. He is responsible for the management of all aspects of customer service delivery.
Steve James, Commercial Director - Corporate Solutions
Responsible for all aspects of Opus Corporate Solutions, including the development of Opus Evolution. He is also responsible for Opus Energy’s regulatory compliance, including reporting to Ofgem. Steve has acquired 10 years of experience within the gas and electricity markets working in customer service and business development.
Ian Stockbridge, Commercial Director - Credit Operations
Ian joined the company in 2003 as Head of Credit Operations. His duties include credit assessment, collections and recoveries. As a member of the Institute of Credit Managers he has worked within credit and collections for 20 years.
Valpy Fitzgerald, Risk Manager
Valpy as manager of the Analytics and Risk Management Department is responsible for the day-to-day management of our electricity forecasting and wholesale purchasing. His department is responsible for pricing and development of new products. He has 8 years experience in the electricity industry, prior to that he was a university lecturer in Energy and Physics.
Andy Dayus, Operations Manager
Andy joined Opus Energy in 2002 and is responsible for operational planning: customer billing, metering and the data management. He has gained vast utilities experience working in similar roles working over the last 10 years.
