The Salisbury Museum

Great value, combined with the right length of contract and good ethics.

Founded in 1860, Salisbury Museum is located in a grade I listed building opposite Salisbury Cathedral. It has a small but friendly staff, supported by over 100 volunteers, and aims to engage and inspire local, national and global audiences. The museum tells the story of the unique Wiltshire landscape that has been the cradle of continuous human achievement for over half a million years, creating inspiring experiences to enable audiences to appreciate what is so significant about the area, and the people who have shaped it.

AT A GLANCE

Business sector: Charitable organisation

Customer since: 2012

Products provided: Electricity

As a charitable, not-for-profit organisation, the museum relies on entry fees, grants, donations and the support of its members to continue its vital work. It is for this reason that finding the best prices on the market was vital in its choice of business energy supplier.

Nicola Kilgour-Croft, Finance Manager at Salisbury Museum, commented: “Of course, as a charity, price is really important to the financial commitments we make. But, we were also looking for an energy supplier that offered great value, combined with the right length of contract and good ethics – and Opus Energy ticked all these boxes for us."

“The switching process went through really smoothly, and the facility to receive invoices via email means I don’t need to spend time on the phone trying to sort out payment. Having 12 month contracts really works for us. It’s worked so well in fact, that three years on from our switch in 2012, we’re looking to renew again for another year!”

At Opus Energy, SMEs are a key part of our business and we know how time-poor they are, so a business energy service that is as smooth and efficient as possible is top priority. Given that we have a customer retention rate of 90% it’s no surprise that Salisbury Museum is looking to renew after three years of customer satisfaction.

Louise Boland, Managing Director of Opus Energy, added: “From our own research, we know that SMEs are time pressured, and that the vast majority of business owners – 71% – say they have to cover multiple roles as part of their job.

“We only supply energy to businesses, so are committed to working with SMEs to give them the products, services and advice they require to help them get on with running their own operations.”
