What does the programme involve?

Our IT team is thriving, and this scheme is an exciting opportunity for you to gain experience across the entire function. Successful graduates will rotate across Project Management, Application Development and Service Management. Here’s what that will look like: Project Management: Engage with business areas across Opus Energy with the team responsible for delivering business critical projects. From formulating requirements for change to existing applications, to implementing a project for a new process or system, you’ll have a lot to keep you going!

Application Development: Our application development team plays a key role in the day to day success of Opus Energy. They are responsible for the development and testing of our internal applications as well as the external portals that we provide to our customers.

Service Management: As part of this team, you will play an important part in providing the infrastructure that hosts our system and day to day IT processes. This team is vital in supporting the day to day requirements of all our people.

Where is it based?

This programme is primarily based in our Northampton office.

How long does it last?

Our Graduate IT programme lasts two years and consists of a series of three to six-month long rotations within the various areas of the IT function here at Opus Energy. They will provide you with vital exposure to a key area of our innovative business.

What happens at the end of the programme?

You’ll have a clear understanding of your key strengths and will be able to see where your skills fit within our IT function. This will help us to identify an appropriate specialism with you. After the two years are up, you’ll continue to develop your skills and experience, and will specialise within one of the three functions we mentioned earlier.

What are the entry requirements?

You’ll need a 2:1 degree in an IT-related subject.

What do you get?

You’ll receive a salary of £23,000 - £25,000 depending on experience. You’ll also get a relocation payment of £1000 and a guaranteed salary increase of £1000 at the end of years 1 and 2. You will also be a part of the company performance bonus scheme, and will receive all our standard benefits such as private health insurance and matched pension.

What is the application process?

The application window for our 2019 programme will open later this year, so watch this space!
